PREFACE.
God asks us to do three fundamental things: 1. Worship Him 2. Love our fellow man, and 3. Spread the good news, i.e. be His witnesses. This is a book about witness. It is not written for profit, entertainment or approval. The Church "maintainers" will grouse. The social and activist Christians will rebuke. For as it must, this book treads through comfort zones --- the vessels of self. We can rely on men to defend themselves and their institutions, against the persuasions of God. Herein is asserted the persuasion of God. Hereby I will accrue criticism. He is the mighty King. I praise His name. I call Him Lord. I declare myself servant. I do this task by unction of the Holy Spirit. I intrude into comfort zones, therefore laying bare my own. I am uneasy, that I might seem to trespass into the sensitivities of the wise and exceptionally regenerate. May it be that those worthy people discern the irrelevance of criticism to their circumstance. Christians are greatly habituated to "niceness". There is holy criticism in this book. There is some righteous indignation. This book critiques our Christian witness. It is not intended to gild the facade of our piety. Please reflect that when Jesus embarked on His earthly ministry, He was not at all pleased with the performance of the Church. If you are unable to cope with a critical perspective of the Church, then, this book will serve no constructive purpose for you. Lay it aside. --------Starting to read this book is easy ---- Courage is required to finish it.
